3 Free Dishcloth Patterns from Knot Sew Normal   When Miss G was born, we pretty much gave up using paper towels. I just got tired of paying so much for something that I was just going to throw away. Now we have a drawer full of dish clothes and towels to use.

I like to add to my stash often and Independence Day gave me a good reason to crochet up some more. I made mine in red, white and blue, but these would look great in any colors.

3 Free Dishcloth Patterns from Knot Sew NormalThe Traditional Granny Square –

  • Round 1 – Start with a Magic Circle in red, 3ch (Counts as a 1dc ), 2dc, 2ch; (3dc, 2ch)three times. sl st to third of 3ch to join. Fasten off
  • Round 2 – With your white yarn join to any corner 2ch space,. 3ch(counts as 1dc), 2dc, 2ch, 3dc all into the same space, (3dc, 2 ch, 3dc in the next corner-sp)three times, sl st to third of 3ch – fasten off
  • Round 3 – With your red yarn join to any corner 2ch space, 3ch(counts as 1dc), 2dc, 2ch, 3dc all into the same space, (3dc in next sp, 3dc, 2ch, 3dc in the next corner-sp)three times, sl st to third of 3ch
  • Round 4 – Continuing with red yarn sl st to next corner 2ch-sp, 3ch(counts as 1dc), 2dc, 2ch, 3dc all into the same space, **(3dc in next sp) twice, (3dc, 2ch, 3dc in the next corner-sp) rep from **three times, (3dc in next sp) twice. sl st to third of 3ch. Fasten off.
  • Round 5 – With your blue yarn join to any corner 2ch sp, 3ch(counts as 1dc), 2dc, 2ch, 3dc all into the same space, **(3dc in next sp) three times, (3dc, 2ch, 3dc in the next corner-sp) rep from **three times, (3dc in next sp) three times. sl st to third of 3ch. Fasten off.
  • Weave in all ends.

  • Ch 23 starting in blue yarn
  • Row 1 – DC in 3rd hole from hook, DC in each chain (21dc)
  • Row 2 – Join white yarn, turn and 3ch (counts as 1dc throughout), dc in back loop only of each DC (21dc)
  • Row 3 – Join red yarn, and repeat row 2
  • Rows 4 -9 repeat row 2 alternating blue yarn, white yarn and red yarn. Fasten off at the end of row 9.
  • sc around outside edge of potholder, making sure to 3sc in each corner sp
  • Weave in all ends.
