***I originally received this pattern for free for testing the pattern for Serger Pepper, but all opinions are mine***
You all may remember a few months ago when I tested the Everyday Tank from Serger Pepper. If you don’t remember you can check out my review here. This is one of my favorite go-to patterns. It can be shirt, midi or maxi length. I have made all three and Miss G just loves them. I decided for this blog tour to add a little something extra to this shirt. Irene from Serger Pepper is offering a coupon code and a giveaway. Keep reading to check out my additions to the pattern and for the coupon code and giveaway.
This shirt is inspired by our favorite football team. I wanted Miss G to have something cute and functional to wear on game days. Here came the Everyday Tank to the rescue. I made this tank by upcycling two t-shirts I found on clearance for $3.00 each. One shirt was the solid grey and the other was a grey, crimson and white striped. I used a white rib knit for the neck and arm binding. I used the existing hem line on the shirts for the tank. To create the pockets I used the existing hemline on the grey shirt for the top of the pocket. Then I just folded over the bottom of my pocket piece 1/4″ and sewed it down right above the tanks hemline. Then I finished the tank following the pattern. For the ruffle I just cut a 3-inch wide piece of the stripped fabric and ruffled it down the center. After I ruffled the strip of fabric I sewed it in place using my double needle. Since it is knit you don’t have to worry about finishing the edges since it will not fray.
This tank is perfect for layering in the colder weather we have been having and then it will carry over into warmer weather when spring rolls around.
