Easy Sew (or No-Sew) Felt Christmas Ornaments and Garland
I LOVE everything about Christmas, but my favorite part is making Christmas ornaments with my kids. I actually came up with these cute ornaments when Miss G was 2. I made a whole bunch of them for our playgroup to decorate. Now I make sure to have some around for the kids to decorate every year. I just made a bunch for Miss G’s kindergarten class to decorate. Back to School – Notebook Paper Tags Tutorial
Who’s ready for back to school? My three-year-old is starting pre-preschool this fall, so technically he’s not going “back”. It’s only going to be two days a week, but I’m pretty sure you can hear my mom-heart breaking over here! I made these little notebook paper tags to make myself feel better. They end up just about business card size and are perfect for adding onto backpacks and jackets – the things kids are so good at losing!
How To Make A Tooth Fairy Pillow – A Knot Sew Normal Tutorial
Miss G will be 6 in a few weeks and at her last dentist appointment the dentist told us to be on the lookout for loose teeth. Well to say Miss G was freaked out is a bit of an understatement. She did not like the idea of her teeth coming out. We have been really talking up how awesome it is when the tooth fairy comes so I thought I would make her a cute little Tooth Fairy pillow. She loves it. Now you can make your own Tooth Fairy pillow. Continue reading

How To Sew An Apron – A Gardening Apron Tutorial by Knot Sew Normal
As you all know we are doing a LOT of gardening. (and it is going really well) I am always struggling with a place to keep my tools when I am working. I hate to lay them on the ground and forget where I put them, I am usually wearing shorts that don’t have pockets (plus I am just not to keen on the idea of putting gardening tools in my pockets.) That is where I came up with the idea of the Garden Apron. I wanted something super easy to sew with a few pockets. I made this of quilters cotton. I wanted something that I could just toss in the washing machine when I am done in the garden. Continue reading
Sycamore Shorts Review
Mr T has a slight obsession with Mickey Mouse. He spotted this fabric in the remnant bin at Joann’s and had to have it. He carried it all over Joann’s so proud of it. He even told the cashier, “My mom is going to make me something.” I knew just what to make with it, The Sycamore Shorts from Sew Like My Mom. Continue reading
DIY : Stars and Stripes Wristlet Tutorial
The 4th of July is always full of places to go. I wanted a cute little wristlet to toss my essentials in when I hit the door for a day of fun. I have looked at a lot of cell phone wallet and bags but I couldn’t find anything that would fit my phone while it is in it’s case. I don’t want to take my phone out of the case, especially if we are going to be anywhere there might be water. I found this great fabric at Joann’s last weekend and knew I had to make a cute little wristlet for my stuff. Stay tuned after the tutorial for a great round up of 4th of July ideas. Continue reading
